My biggest problem actually, isn't taking care of my mother so much than it is my brothers and sisters (my dad died in 2003) take me for granted and make me take care our mother by saying that since my mom was always there for me growing up(I have a disability since birth) I should be taking care of her. i get sooo depressed and I really don't get that much help.

Jaqueline, I have lived experience with Ambiguous Loss when my son was missing. Your insight on Ambiguous Grief is not what I experienced. I was living with uncertainty, with a both/and situation (he may be alive and may be deceased). I learned about this from Dr. Pauline Boss who coined the theory on Ambiguous Loss. Please know that during this time my grief was "frozen" since I didn't know what I was grieving. You refer to "Ambiguous Grief". Whose theory is this?

Im sorry everyone,.. im not handling this. My coworkers made a big thing about early retirement for us og's. They somehow convinced me to join them. Two weeks later, im panicking , stressing to get BACK! But policy said no. I went into a breakdown,.. my stress was extreme, and the anxiety!, then insomnia,.. then depression. I suffer 24/7.. ruminating on how foolish i was,..etc. This is too much pain... and to experience mental and physical health decline! Ive talked already to psychologist, therapist, Pastors, 988, VA... etc. Im all alone,.. my job was my source of everything. ... structure, purpose, identity, social interactions, friendships, coworkers, self esteem etc ... .. i don't know ⛓️

Fraudulent theory and is used to either deny "getting to root" as Boss claims and I think she is the author that "ambiguous loss" can be used to explain actual loss of former loved ones (or where people are made to go missing) which directly conflicts this person's claim.

Hi There, I have been exactly in those shoes and ran into the same mental roadblock you had. It sucked bigtime. This happened to me at 57 - 10 short of SS. i could have died. But I got pixxed and formed my own company against this company selling industrial computers worldwide off the end of my dining room table in my jammies. I netted 1M before I folded up, thus putting my retirement back together into investments under management. Still I had this mental thing going on. It has been 20 years when I got bit again, and will drop in to speak to a shrink this weekend to see if he has anything to offer to combat this. Knowing retirement is under cotrol is a big help but it still feels like rolling along and then dropping thru a hole in the floor. The trick is to stay active, exercise, eat well, and perhaps go to a fitness center and walk on the mill or around your yard, gut your yard in sections, take a nap, And stay close to family. My family is in CA and also grown up but still there are days. Volunteer to help people, something easy. Write me back if you would like to. I see you are a modeler - me too. Go to your club, and train shows. Remember that you are still you and this is all upstairs. Give your gtranddaughter a hug. Bob - Cleveland

In Puerto Rico we dont get paid for tsking care of our elders. Ive doing it for my mom for eight yrs now. Im getting to the point where sometimes I spent my 5 min shower time crying and screaming.. even my faith have been compromised. I love my motber to death. I will never lesve her because I know my brother will tske her to a home. But the truth is, im so tired and depressed i dont even know who I am anymore. But yes, i feel like one of those slaves that reach people bring from the islands promising gold and the moon and the star. Im a cancer patient myself and cant even take care of my appointments. Well. If it is tru that GOD is looking after me...he certanley needs better glasses prescriptions.

I am so depressed and I stay home, get in bed, and bawl, where my 85 yr mama can't hear me. I'm 49 have my mortgaged home and moved mama in to escape covid. I work from home so mama can't go to nursing home...I was raised jehovahs witness but I'm gay and so I'm really just hated by all my old religious acquaintances and I have no other friends because my mom doesn't approve at all and so ai disabled my Facebook and social networks so I won't embarrass my mom with my gay friends in front of her religious friends... The sicker she gets the more depressed I get. Once she passes, I'm selling my home and donating to save lions and then self-terminatimg. That religious upbringing taught me to hate myself in every facet and I have no goals, don't wanna go out, nor buy anything. I don't WANT any goals. Just wanna disappear forever. I took care of my papa at home until he passed from bone cancer, now my mama, and no help from my brother at all. If ai had been self-terminated I wouldn't have even had the discomfort of reliving it again right now. I was bullied in school would come home bruised so bad, molested by my brother at 6 yrs old and starting the car in the garage sure sounds good right now.

I ended up with TD and psychosis from seroquil and olanzapine prescribed at the same time for "bipolar" even though the doctor knew i was living in a extremely abusive relationship, had past trauma, and was heavily abusing weed and alcohol. I first quit the alcohol, then meds, then weed. Im 4.5 years into my true recovery journey. Havent been depressed or had psychotic symptoms since holistically treating myself. Thanks BIg Pharma but no thanks.

Wait…I’m even more confused than before. Wouldn’t ALL OF US grimace if someone said they were going to help us with a bath? This is sort of like someone saying “You’re in denial”, how does one object to such a lazy and self-serving accusation? And if you don’t know you have it, how do we know this woman doesn’t suffer from it?

It's really easy. You show someone a video of how dirty they are - they'll still deny it. The rest of society will rightfully say you're filthy you need a bath. But the one person who has anosognosia is saying they're not dirty. I'm with the majority (and my nose) on this one.

Yeah I just believed that maybe some psychiatrist's feel that their pursuing a meaningful occupation to help stabilize some in society. But I generally believe they only are wanting the great financial salaries. They are more communist with involuntary treatment orders. I don't think they have any consideration since were strangers to them, were not even humans were just a patient it's like the holocaust in some strange way to justify suffering. They are more criminals in my opinion, their drugs are so flawed and I think that they should be only allowed to prescribe low doses legally, It should be a global government legislation. @@lorddoggo5854

Yes I'm only under a lower dosage of Haloperidol currently and when I was telling my psychiatrist about my financial concerns, it only caused him to prescribe Fluxomaine too and I didn't want it too. He took my realistic concerns and tried to suggest the anxiety would cause me a relapse. Even though I don't agree with my diagnosis that I was given ten years ago.@@lorddoggo5854
